KAOS
Many of us grew up with the Tripp Trapp high chair – including us. Launched in the 1970s, it has become an icon of Norwegian furniture design and changed the way we think about children's seating.
It is functional, recognisable and designed to grow with the child.
So why did we decide to create another Norwegian high chair?
When we became parents for the first time, we chose Tripp Trapp for our kitchen table. We had grown up with it ourselves, so it was, quite simply, the nostalgic choice.
But when we were expecting our second child – now with a little more parenting experience under our belts – we realised there was something we were missing: a high chair made for modern family life.
Homes were getting smaller. Families were moving more. "Compact living" had become a thing. And, after a lot of research, we realised there simply wasn't a beautifully designed high chair that could fold away when you didn't need it – while still being useful throughout childhood.
So we created one.

Today, KAOS KLAPP® comes in two distinct material options: Wood and Recycled.
KLAPP® Wood is available in premium Beech and Oak, bringing natural materials and timeless Scandinavian furniture design to the table.
KLAPP® Recycled is made from recycled post-consumer plastic blended with wood fibres. The result is a durable, easy-to-clean high chair with a distinctive cloudy finish – and a version of KLAPP that is equally at home around the kitchen table or outside on the terrace.
Different materials. Same KLAPP idea: a high chair designed to make everyday family life easier.

KLAPP is designed to be part of family life from the very beginning.
With the KLAPP® Newborn Seat, even the smallest member of the family can join life around the table. As your child grows, snap-on accessories make it easy to adapt KLAPP to each new stage.
The KLAPP® Rail & Tray creates a practical setup for the weaning years, while the Jr. Harness & Cushion Set adds extra support and comfort for little ones finding their feet – quite literally.
Later, KLAPP can be used on its own. The fixed steps give children continuous foot support and make it easy for them to climb up and down independently.
No constant adjusting of seat plates or footrests required.
The chair itself supports up to 110 kg, so it tends to stick around long after the baby years are over.
KAOS KLAPP® comes fully assembled and ready to use straight out of the box.
Simply unfold it until it clicks into position.
That's it.
No toolbox. No bag of mysterious screws. No instruction-manual-induced relationship crisis.
And when you need the space back, KLAPP folds flat again in seconds.
Folded, KLAPP measures just 13 cm in depth.
That means it can disappear behind a door, tuck away when you need more floor space or hang neatly on the wall using the KLAPP® Wall Hook.
This was one of the ideas behind KLAPP from day one: children's furniture doesn't necessarily need to take over the entire home just because you have children.
And because KLAPP is lightweight and foldable, it's also easy to bring along. The KLAPP® Carry Strap makes short trips even easier, while the KLAPP® Travel Bag is made for adventures further from home.
You can even add KLAPP® Slippers to protect floors and give the chair a softer footing.
At home, at the grandparents', at the cabin or on the road – KLAPP is designed to move with family life.
Tripp Trapp has earned its place in Norwegian design history, and its journey has always been an inspiration to us.
KLAPP approaches the high-chair category from a different angle.
Designed by Norwegian product designer Ole Petter Wullum, KLAPP is inspired by a staircase. Its fixed steps encourage children to climb up and take their own place at the table, supporting active sitting and independence as they grow.
Instead of constantly adapting the chair to the child, the design allows the child to use the chair naturally at different stages.
Clean lines, smart functionality and materials chosen to last are at the heart of the design.
And, importantly, it folds.
Two Norwegian high chairs. Two different approaches to the same important place: the family table.
Tripp Trapp helped redefine the high chair in the 1970s.
Decades later, KLAPP was created for a new generation of families – families living in smaller spaces, moving between places and looking for products that can do more while taking up less room.
Choose KLAPP® in Oak, Beech or Recycled, then add the accessories you need for your family's current stage.
And when you don't need it?
Click. Fold. Gone.
Until next mealtime.
